What Is Project Lakeview?

Project Lakeview is a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to serving the families of fallen first responders.

We can't erase the risks first responders face. But we can be there before and after losses happen. We've lost friends and family. No one should have to endure these losses alone.

Through peer support, wellness initiatives, faith-based encouragement, family-centered events, and therapy dog engagement, Project Lakeview creates opportunities for connection before crisis occurs.

We build relationships with first responders, their families, and the communities they serve. We create trust, connection, and a strong support system so that when crisis happens, no one walks through it alone.

Relationships Today. Support Tomorrow.

Meet Boaz, our therapy dog in training. He represents compassion, trust, patience, and hope. His presence helps break barriers, create conversation, and provide comfort in moments where connection matters most.

What We Do

Project Lakeview knows grief and sorrow can’t be erased, but can be eased by honoring our loved ones.

Our organization honors police officers, firefighters, and emergency medical technicians fallen in the line of duty by providing dream experiences for their loved ones.

Instead of simply raising money, we want to fulfill a dream experience, create lifelong memories, and build a supportive community.

Dream experiences connect the passions of the fallen with new memories for their families. We've treated families to sporting events with their lost loved one's favorite team, dinners at their lost loved one's favorite restaurant, and more.

Project Lakeview helps families come together in their time of need and start the healing process.

Our Mission

"To honor those who have laid down their lives in service to others (John 15:13), by blessing their families through the fulfillment of shared dreams, and by bearing one another's burdens in love (Galatians 6:2), building a community rooted in compassion, remembrance, and hope."

Our organization was named after three brave firefighters who passed away while fighting a fire on Lakeview Road in Wilmington Delaware.

Through helping others, Project Lakeview honors fallen firefighters Captain Christopher Leach, Lieutenant Jerry Fickes, and Lieutenant Ardythe Hope.

They were all promoted posthumously and leave behind families, friends, and a proud community.
